Hardy Shrub Roses in the background have not been irrigated or pruned while the family was gone for a year at the University.   Can't understand why the girls were not impressed. : )

This is a Primrose, I can not find which species, but same foliage.  Isn't it a lovely color. Grows wild here with the Oenothera speciosa: Mexican evening primrose
