California Summer Color... Bat Face Cuphea... Day 205

Bat Face Cuphea  'Cuphea llavea'

I love the Bat Face Cuphea.  I grew it in Texas. Considered a Plant for Texas. Here in the pot it makes a nice coupling with Scaveola.

Bat Face Cuphea up closer.

California Summer Color... Candy Corn Abutilon... Day 204

I love the grouping of the Abutilon with the Scaveola, Yarrow, and Bat Face Cupea. Below I played with Picasa to focus on the Abutilon.

Callifornia Summer Color... Blue Daisy like Flower... Day 201

This is so pretty, but not necessarily a native of California.  We were at the Fresno Zoo.  Many plants from different places.  I loved it because I had so many when I had the nursery.  But here is another defying my identification.

Callifornia Summer Color... Coreopsis Moonbeam... Day 200

The granddaughter was learning the names of the flowers.  Her mom said we learned more flower names at the zoo than  animal names.  Can I help it if I love flowers?
Coreopsis Moonbeam
The Fresno Zoo is a wonderful zoo.  They have beautiful flowers too. ; )

Love that I caught it just as the wind blew the seeds.  "Make a Wish"

California Summer Color ... Colorful Weed Day 177

Sisymbrium altissimum or Tall Tumblemustard.  The flower has interesting growth during the summer and turns into a tumble weed fall and winter.

California Summer Color Primrose... Day 174

This is a Primrose, I can not find which species, but same foliage.  Isn't it a lovely color. Grows wild here with the Oenothera speciosa: Mexican evening primrose

Summer Color Fourth of July... Day 172

Did not have a good lens for this.  Not to mention the camera shutter time was way too slow. I had to show what I managed to capture out of way too many shots.  Part of the finale.  Happy Fourth of July!

California Summer Color... Day 165

I have fallen into Flower Heaven.
This one flower defies my identification. I will find out eventually, if one of you can't identify it. My first thought was Rosa Foliosa, but can not find one that matches.  Hope you enjoy.  My granddaughter and I were stopped by it as we were walking down the road.
